⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

“I really enjoyed this course! The structure of the lessons, including the short videos and clear explanations, made it easy to stay motivated and practice regularly.

The demo/assignment format is particularly effective, allowing me to focus more on practical skills rather than just theory.

I highly recommend this course to anyone looking to improve their figure drawing from imagination but also their spatial awareness.

What to Expect

Why draw the mannequin?

The mannequin is a simplified human figure. It has the same proportions and moves in the same way as the human but doesn’t wear any clothes and doesn’t have any anatomy other than simple forms like boxes.

After spending hundreds of hours trying to draw figures from imagination I’ve learned that being able to draw anything from imagination means framing your practice. You don’t need to know every name of every muscle or bone to draw a figure in a pose. You need to be able to angle body parts and make sure they feel connected. This can be done with simple forms. And that’s why we use the mannequin.

If you can draw a mannequin from imagination, you are pretty close to drawing figures from imagination.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

“I was good at drawing people from reference pictures, but I always got stuck when I tried to draw people from imagination. This course really helped me to get a better understanding of the different parts of the body and how they interact to form a pose.

The exercises in this course start quite simple, but become more challenging every day. You will improve very quickly! By the end of the course I was able to draw mannequins from imagination and to modify poses from reference pictures. I still need a lot of practice, but this course gave me a solid foundation from which I can further develop my skills.

I recommend this course to everyone who is interested in drawing human figures, and especially to people who are interested in drawing comics.”

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

The advantage of this course is the psychological approach which makes it very easy to follow. He pointed out a lot of mistakes people usually make in figure drawings and I myself hadn't realised those mistakes before.

My biggest challenge is that I set high expectations in learning to draw. That easily makes me feel demotivated and I can give up quickly on something. Alexander kept insisting and made sure us to slow down and focus on one thing before moving to another. That really helps me to see my improvement in drawing.

I really recommend the course for everyone since Alexander covered knowledge for different levels, and especially for people who want to combine drawing learning and psychological approach. I'm looking forward to attending the next course from Alexander.

FAQ

  • Do I need any drawing experience?

Absolutely not. We’ll start at the basics so you’ll understand how constructional drawing works on a fundamental level. This is a very technical form of drawing, it might be a bit out of your comfort zone, but everything will be explained step-by-step and brought to you in a simplified matter.

  • Why is it called a ‘challenge’?

Typically challenges last a certain amount of time and are exercise orientated. The same counts for this course. Each lessons consists of a video (max 25 minutes long) and a couple of exercises you can do in 20-30 minutes. Roughly it should take up an hour per session, but I’ve heard some people do it in less time and some take a bit more or repeat certain lessons.

  • What materials do I need for the course?

Although you can do the course with digital tools I recommend working traditionally. A simple sketchbook with some ballpoint pens works best. When you sign up you’ll receive links to some of the materials I use myself but you are free to work with whatever you want.

  • How long do I have access to the course?

You’ll have lifetime access to the challenge. Any revisions or upgrades are included in your purchase.

  • Will I get personal feedback?

The course doesn’t include personal feedback but you can post your work in the community and ask for feedback. There are many artists helping each other out and I regularly check out the posts and give some pointers. But if you feel like you need more help or want one-on-one a ‘draw-over’ you can book a separate call with me for €80. Just send me an email and we can set-up a private session.

  • Are the lessons live?

Each lesson is pre-recorded and edited to make your course experience even more smoothness. All lessons have been tested in live session and are designed for an optimal experience. You can watch the videos at your own pace.

  • Do you have a refund policy?

There’s a satisfaction guaranteed. But if for any reason you don’t value this course we offer a complete refund within 14 days of the start of the challenge, no questions asked.

  • How can I get in touch if I still have questions?

You can email us at hello@drdraw.cc anytime.
